Global Generators is pleased to announce that we are now an authorised dealer for Grupel, one of Europe's leading manufacturers of diesel generator sets. The appointment strengthens our position as a genuine multi-brand stockist, adding a proven European manufacturer alongside our existing range as an authorised Cummins Power Generation reseller.
About Grupel
Grupel is a Portuguese manufacturer of power generators, founded in 1976 and based in Vagos, Portugal. With almost half a century of experience, the company has grown to become the largest producer of generator sets in Portugal, and today supplies power generation equipment to more than 70 countries across five continents.
Grupel designs, builds and sells generator sets from 3 kVA up to 4200 kVA, along with portable lighting towers and bespoke power solutions for specialist applications. The company operates from a purpose-built manufacturing and warehousing facility of around 6,000 square metres, and holds ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certification for quality and environmental management. Grupel has also won Portugal's Prémio Cinco Estrelas (Five Star Award) in the generators category for eight consecutive years.
As part of the range we will be stocking, Grupel builds its generator sets using components from internationally recognised engine manufacturers including Perkins, Iveco and Baudouin, alongside its own Grupel-brand components.
The Ranges We're Offering
Global Generators will be offering four of Grupel's diesel generator ranges, covering everything from small standby units to large containerised power plant.
Smart Range (8 to 65 kVA)
The Smart range covers lower-power standby applications for homes and businesses. These units start automatically in the event of a mains failure and are available in open or soundproof canopy versions, making them well suited to smaller commercial and light industrial sites.
Industrial Range (40 to 1250 kVA)
The Industrial range is designed to act as a main or emergency power source for sites with no other supply, or where the existing supply is unreliable. It's a versatile range aimed at sectors including manufacturing, healthcare, data centres and hospitality, and it's built to run continuously as well as respond automatically to a supply failure.
Heavy Range (800 to 3150 kVA)
The Heavy range covers containerised generator sets for high-demand industrial applications, supplying low or medium voltage power on a continuous or standby basis. These units are built to be adaptable to site-specific requirements, with a dedicated technical team behind their specification and build.
Rental Range
Built specifically for the rental market, this range is designed to withstand frequent transportation and use in demanding outdoor conditions. Features include a bolt-on canopy (rather than welded, for greater durability), a large-capacity fuel tank with easy access for maintenance, a reinforced chassis for towing, and forklift pockets and a central lifting hook for straightforward handling on site.
Stock and Availability
Our first shipment of silent, canopied Grupel generators is due to arrive from early September 2026, with most key models and sizes following shortly after. This will give UK worldwide customers fast access to a well-established European-built range alongside our main existing Cummins stock.
Large containerised generator sets are also available to order, with competitive lead times from the factory in Portugal. We will hold select sizes in stock here in the UK for immediate dispatch, so customers with an urgent power requirement won't always need to wait on a full production lead time.
