The Cummins C2750D5BE-PB is a high-output 50Hz containerised diesel generator engineered for critical standby and prime power. Delivering 2750 kVA standby and 2500 kVA prime, this Centum™ Force generator combines a proven Cummins QSK60 engine with integrated cooling, acoustic treatment and intelligent controls in a transportable 40ft high-cube enclosure.
Rated at 2750 kVA / 2200 kW standby, the C2750D5BE-PB provides emergency power during the interruption of a reliable utility supply. Its capacity makes it particularly suitable for facilities where an outage could cause substantial operational, financial or safety consequences.
For applications requiring sustained generation, the set offers 2500 kVA / 2000 kW prime power. The prime rating is designed for variable electrical loads over unlimited operating hours, with 10% overload capability available in accordance with the applicable ISO rating definition. This makes the generator suitable for sites without dependable grid access as well as large-scale temporary or supplementary power systems.
Typical applications for this 2750 kVA generator include:
The C2750D5BE-PB is a three-phase 400V diesel generator operating at 50Hz. At its standby rating, the nominal output is approximately 3974 amps per phase, subject to the final voltage and electrical configuration selected for the project.
At the centre of the C2750D5BE-PB enclosed generator is the Cummins QSK60-G23, a 60.2-litre V16 industrial diesel engine developed for high-output power generation.
Its four-stroke, 60-degree V configuration uses turbocharging and low-temperature aftercooling to support efficient combustion under demanding loads. Cummins Modular Common Rail System fuel injection provides electronically controlled fuel delivery, while the electronic governor helps maintain stable engine speed and generator frequency as the connected load changes.
Key engine specifications include:
This combination of displacement, forced induction and electronic fuel management gives the C2750D5BE-PB the power reserve required for large load steps and demanding critical-power installations.
Fuel consumption at full prime load is approximately 489 litres per hour. At lower prime loads, consumption is approximately 377 litres per hour at 75%, 266 litres per hour at 50% and 156 litres per hour at 25%.
Under standby operation, the published consumption figures are approximately 538 litres per hour at full load, 411 litres per hour at 75%, 286 litres per hour at 50% and 162 litres per hour at 25%. Actual usage will depend on load profile, ambient conditions, fuel quality, installation and auxiliary equipment.
The standard specification includes a 1000-litre fuel tank, providing around two hours of operation at full prime load. Larger integrated tank arrangements and interfaces for an external bulk fuel system may be specified where longer autonomy is required. These options allow the fuel installation to be designed around the site’s resilience strategy, available space and refuelling arrangements.
The C2750D5BE-PB containerised generator forms part of the Cummins Centum™ Force range. Rather than supplying the engine, alternator, cooling system and enclosure as separate site-installed elements, the principal systems are integrated and tested within an ISO-format 40ft high-cube container.
Factory integration can reduce the amount of mechanical and electrical assembly required on site, helping shorten installation and commissioning programmes. Quick external connections, an embedded control panel and integrated ancillary systems also make the package easier to incorporate into new-build or expanding power plants.
The standard container measures:
Its modular format supports efficient international transport and future redeployment. Centum™ Force installations can also use flexible arrangements such as head-to-head, back-to-back and head-to-back positioning. Subject to project engineering and structural requirements, the range has been designed to support two-level stacking, potentially reducing the land required for multi-generator power plants.
The C2750D5BE-PB silent enclosure protects the generating equipment from wind, rain and dust while reducing operational noise. At 100% standby load, the published sound pressure level is 84.2 dB(A) at one metrewhen operating with the specified variable-frequency fan arrangement.
Acoustic insulation, a high-performance exhaust silencer and dedicated noise-reduction features help make this 2.75 MVA generator more practical for sites where very large power output must be balanced against environmental noise requirements.
The standard cooling system is designed for operation at ambient temperatures up to 45°C. A 50°C cooling configuration is available for hotter climates, subject to the selected specification. Vertical hot-air discharge supports flexible placement of multiple units and helps limit the clearance required between adjacent generator containers.
Motorised ventilation louvres manage airflow through the enclosure, while independently controlled cooling fans can adapt operation to cooling demand. The radiator system holds approximately 615 litres of coolant and moves up to 38 m³ of air per second in the standard configuration.
The C2750D5BE-PB uses the Cummins PowerCommand 3.3 control panel for generator management, protection and monitoring. The control system is designed to provide operators with clear access to key engine and electrical information while supporting integration into wider site power-management systems.
Centum™ Force packages may be configured with a touchscreen human-machine interface, remote monitoring connectivity and advanced paralleling controls. For high-capacity projects, multiple generators can therefore be coordinated to start, synchronise and share load as part of a resilient modular power plant.
Accessible service doors, removable cooling components and an optional removable roof simplify access to major systems. These features are particularly valuable on critical sites, where planned maintenance must be completed efficiently and unplanned downtime kept to a minimum.
The Cummins C2750D5BE-PB is more than an engine and alternator installed inside an acoustic container. It is a factory-integrated power system designed to reduce project complexity while providing dependable output at megawatt scale.
Its combination of 2200 kW standby power, 2000 kW prime power, a Cummins QSK60-G23 engine, PowerCommand controls and a robust silent enclosure makes it a strong choice for mission-critical facilities and large industrial projects. Configurable fuel, cooling, monitoring and electrical options also allow the C2750D5BE-PB enclosed generator to be engineered around the operational and environmental requirements of installations in the UK and worldwide.
